Chapter 4: The Severance & The Signed Divorce
Natalie reached into her small clutch handbag. She pulled out a neatly folded document that she had drafted that very morning—the divorce agreement.
“Ethan Carter, since you believe I am a useless parasite and Chloe is your golden goose, let’s end this farce today.”
She tossed the document onto the table in front of Ethan.
Ethan froze, catching the paper. The title read in bold letters: MARRIAGE DISSOLUTION AGREEMENT.
“Divorce?” Ethan’s eyes widened slightly, followed by a burst of angry laughter. “Natalie, are you trying to play hard to get? You want to divorce me? After leaving this door, you won’t have a roof over your head or a single penny to eat!”
“Ethan, let her sign!” Chloe chimed in eagerly, her eyes sparkling. “She’s just throwing a tantrum. Once she signs, she gets zero alimony because she brought nothing to the marriage!”
“You’re right,” Ethan sneered, taking out a gold pen. “Natalie, don’t regret this. Once I sign this, you will never step foot into the Carter estate again. Don’t come crawling back begging for mercy!”
Ethan slammed his signature onto the paper without hesitation.
Natalie took the pen, signed her name—Natalie Sinclair—with swift, flawless penmanship, and took her copy.
“I won’t regret a single second of this,” Natalie said softly. She looked at Ethan and Chloe as if looking at two dead creatures. “Ethan Carter, enjoy your glory tonight. Because starting tomorrow morning, everything you think you own will vanish like smoke.”
Ethan mocked, “Threatening me? With what? Your cheap words?”
Natalie didn’t waste another second. She turned around, her plain beige dress fluttering as she walked away with an aura of absolute royalty.
As she pushed open the glass doors of the Grand Hyatt, a sleek, jet-black Maybach custom-made by Sinclair Motors pulled up to the curb. A grandfatherly man in white gloves stepped out, bowing ninety degrees in front of the stunned security guards.
“Welcome home, Lady Natalie,” Butler Harrison said respectfully. “The Sinclair Board of Directors and global executives are waiting for your command.”
