Chapter 12: The Eternal Crown of Light

In the grand hall of Mount Olympus, surrounded by golden pillars and waterfalls of liquid nectar, the coronation ceremony began.

Two thrones sat atop the highest dais—one of brilliant solar gold, and beside it, a newly forged throne of white marble inlaid with glowing sun-gems.

Apollo led Irene up the golden steps. He turned to face her, taking both of her hands in his.

“In the mortal realm, they offered you rags and scorn,” Apollo said softly, his golden eyes filled with endless love. “They tried to force you into darkness. But your kindness shone brighter than any mortal crown.”

Apollo picked up the Solar Diadem—a crown woven from divine laurel leaves, morning dew, and a central diamond that burned with the holy light of dawn.

He gently placed the crown upon Irene’s head.

BOOM!

Across the mortal world below, every sunbeam flared with a gentle, joyful brilliance. The flowers bloomed in every valley, and the oceans glowed like molten turquoise.

“By my divine authority as God of Light,” Apollo declared, his voice resounding across heaven and earth, “I crown Irene as the Queen of the Sun! Her word is my law, her joy is my light, and her reign shall endure for all eternity!”

The Olympian deities bowed, their applause echoing like joyous music through the cosmos.

Irene sat upon the throne of light beside Apollo. She looked down at the mortal world, feeling a deep, everlasting connection to all who suffered in darkness, knowing that under her reign, hope and justice would always prevail.

Apollo sat beside her, taking her hand and lacing his fingers with hers.

“They thought you were swapped to a beggar, my Queen,” Apollo whispered with a tender smile, pulling her close as the golden light of the heavens enveloped them both.

Irene smiled, leaning into his embrace. “And they never realized… that the beggar was my God of Light.”
