Chapter 6: The Blood Moon Coronation
The blood-red lunar glow of the Blood Moon washed over the sand of the Grand Colosseum. Thousands of students, council elders, and nobles filled the stone tiers, watching in stunned silence as Garrison Vance unleashed thirty alchemically corrupted berserker werewolves.
Feral screams of drug-crazed wolves echoed. Finn Kane, in his half-shifted Solar Zenith form with glowing jade-gold irises and white-gold solar claws humming with plasma, walked onto the arena sand. Chris Vance, Simon Hart, and Neal Reyes stood shoulder-to-shoulder beside him.
The four mates unleashed their synchronized auras. The ozone crackle of four apex auras locked into place, creating an impenetrable four-pillar barrier of solar fire, glacial frost, shadow mist, and furnace blood-heat across the sand.
The berserker legion charges with bared fangs as the four mates surge into combat.
Explosions of ice, shadow, fire, and solar light tore through the sand floor. Chris Vance formed an impenetrable glacial vanguard, freezing and severing enemy lines with broad claymore arcs. Glacial frost shattered against burning fur. Simon Hart glided through shadow mist, slicing tendons with shadow-needles and injecting alchemical purifiers. Neal Reyes pulverizes heavy berserkers with bone-cracking kinetic strikes in 12-foot Behemoth form.
Finn channeled Primordial Solar Command, unleashing a golden bio-frequency flash. The blast paralyzed the berserkers’ nervous systems, the solar plasma sizzling as it purified the dark parasites in their blood.
The last berserker collapses to the sand, leaving only Garrison Vance standing alone.
Garrison shifted into his 10-foot Shadow-Iron Dire form, lunging at Finn in a manic death-strike. Bone spikes snapped as Finn dodged the venomous jaws with acrobatic grace. Finn drove his solar claws through Garrison’s shoulder joints, pinning him to the smoking stone.
With a burst of solar plasma, Finn shattered Garrison’s Alpha command core. The agonizing howl of an Alpha being permanently stripped of his beast echoed off the tiers. The heavy grey fur collapsed back into withered human skin.
Finn threw the Silvercrest Betrayal Contract and the Dread-Fang collar at the feet of the trembling High Council Elders in the royal box. The Elders inspected the documents, recognized the twenty-year treason, and dropped to their knees. The entire Colosseum—marshals, nobles, Betas, and Omegas—bowed in unison.
The Colosseum erupts into a thunderous chant hailing the reborn Sovereign.
At dawn, Finn stood on the high sky battlements of Blackthorn overlooking the Ironvein Crags. A golden sunrise pierced through fading crimson clouds. Cold mountain wind whipped his dark hair. Chris, Simon, and Neal joined him, offering their permanent, shared devotion. Simon handed Finn the restored Zenith royal medallion. Chris cupped Finn’s jaw, and Neal leaned against his shoulder with a fierce grin.
Before Finn could answer their fated mate bond, a low, ominous iron war horn sounded from the southern mountain pass. Black smoke billowed over the horizon. An armored war vanguard carrying the black scorpion banners of the Dread-Fang Dominion marched toward Blackthorn—ten thousand strong.
Finn looked out at the ten-thousand-strong armored army marching over the crags, igniting his solar claws with a savage, fearless grin:
“Let them come. They’re hunting in my territory now.”
