Chapter 3: Return of the Sinclair Queen
Rain poured over the glass entrance of the Grand Regent Hotel.
As Natalie stepped out of the lobby, a fleet of ten obsidian-black Maybach limousines pulled up to the curb in perfect formation. Fifty security officers in tailored charcoal suits stepped out, opening black silk umbrellas to form a dry canopy over her path.
An elderly gentleman in a double-breasted suit—Grand Butler Harrison of the Sinclair Estate—stepped forward, bowed his head to a ninety-degree angle, and opened the door to the lead limousine.
“Welcome back to your true home, President Natalie Sinclair,” Harrison said, his voice deep and reverent. “The Sinclair Board of Directors has been awaiting your command for five years.”
Natalie slid into the soft leather interior of the Maybach. “Harrison, prepare the change of wardrobe. We are heading straight to Sinclair Tower.”
“At once, Miss Natalie.”
Inside the spacious private dressing compartment of the limousine, Natalie removed her wine-stained navy dress. She washed away the grime of five years of domestic sacrifice, stepping into a custom-tailored obsidian silk pantsuit woven with real platinum threads by the world’s top master artisan. A nine-carat midnight sapphire pendant—the mark of the Sinclair Sovereign—was clasped around her neck.
Her hair was swept back into a sleek, commanding crown. The quiet, self-effacing “Natalie Lin” was gone. In her place stood the undisputed queen of global high finance.
Ten minutes later, the Maybach fleet glided into the underground private garage of Sinclair Tower—a 110-story skyscraper dominating the central skyline of Aethelgard.
The executive elevator shot straight up to the 100th floor. As the doors opened into the Imperial Boardroom, thirty senior directors, billionaire hedge fund managers, and international trade ambassadors immediately stood up, bowing in unison.
“President Sinclair!” they chanted in reverence.
Natalie walked to the head of the marble conference table and took her seat in the high leather executive chair.
“Directors,” Natalie opened a leather tablet. “Five years ago, I entered a marriage of sentiment and secretly routed three billion dollars in Sinclair capital, exclusive Italian silk import licenses, and forty core patents to Ethan Carter’s workshop.”
The directors gasped in outrage. “Three billion dollars to that ungrateful peasant?!”
“Ethan Carter believed he built Carter Luxury Group through his own genius,” Natalie continued, a cold smile touching her lips. “Tonight, he publicly humiliated me on live stream to appease his mistress.”
She slammed her hand onto the glass tabletop.
“Initiate Plan Execution: Zero Foundation. Revoke every credit line, terminate all raw silk shipments, cancel all brand licensing agreements, and freeze all bank accounts associated with House Carter immediately!”
“At once, President Sinclair!” the Chief Financial Officer replied, typing feverishly on his terminal. “The financial guillotine has been dropped!”
