Chapter 6: Coronation & Eternal Luna

Alpha, You Have A Secret Cub! 6 of 6

The blinding pillar of celestial light lingering over the ruined Moonlight Gardens did not vanish all at once. It dissipated slowly, dissolving into shimmering silver dust that hovered in the cool night air like a cascade of fallen stars. The oppressive stench of dark magic and shadow venom was completely purged, replaced by the crisp, overwhelming aroma of crushed pine needles, ozone, and wild silver orchids.

At the center of the shattered marble fountain, the giant form of the Supreme White Wolf began to shift. The towering, radiant beast exhaled a breath of mist, its glowing violet-blue eyes softening as its gaze landed on the small boy curled safe against the stone balustrade. With a graceful ripple of silver fur and bright moonlight, the divine shape receded.

Seraphina stood on the garden path once more in her human form. Her slender frame was surrounded by a faint, persistent halo of white light, and threads of pure celestial silver glinted woven through her dark tresses. Beneath her collarbone, the ancient crescent moon symbol burned with steady, warm brilliance.

“Mommy!”

Leo’s small voice shattered the stunned silence of the garden. The five-year-old boy scrambled up from the marble edge and sprinted across the ruined grass, his tiny boots pounding against scattered obsidian shards. He threw his arms around her waist, burying his face into her clothes.

“Mommy, you were so big! And shiny! The bad dark shadow guys couldn’t even touch us!”

Seraphina dropped to her knees immediately, wincing slightly as her shoulder throbbed—where the assassin’s blade had shattered against her divine skin moments ago—before her supreme bloodline magic sealed the skin entirely. She gathered Leo into her arms, pulling him so tightly against her chest that she could feel the rapid, healthy thud of his little heart against her own. Tears of pure maternal relief welled in her eyes, spilling down her pale cheeks to shine like liquid silver in the moonlight.

“My brave little cub,” she whispered, her voice trembling as she buried her face in his soft dark curls. “Are you hurt? Did any of the dark magic touch you?”

“Nope!” Leo puffed out his chest proudly, though his small wolf ears peeked out from his curls and twitched nervously. “I stayed right behind you like a good bodyguard! And look, Mommy—my fingers do the shiny light now too!”

He held up his small hand, wiggling his fingers. Tiny, harmless sparks of divine white energy crackled over his small knuckles, dancing merrily before winking out.

Heavy, commanding footsteps approached over the gravel. Seraphina raised her head to find Alpha Kael standing over them.

The Sovereign King of the Silvermoon Realm looked transformed. His imposing six-foot-three frame was rigid with leftover adrenaline, his broad chest rising and falling beneath his dark leather armor. But the lethal, terrifying Alpha aura that usually paralyzed whole battlefields was completely absent. In its place was raw, unadulterated awe and a fierce, burning possessiveness. His golden eyes, luminous in the midnight gloom, shifted from the lingering silver dust to Seraphina’s face.

Without a word, Kael dropped to one knee before her. The mighty Alpha, whose command bended thousands to their knees, reached out with a trembling hand to gently cup the side of her face. His thumb stroked away a tear.

“Seraphina,” he murmured, his deep baritone rasping with emotion. “You… you are the Supreme White Wolf. The divine progenitor.”

“I only knew I had to protect my son,” Seraphina said, her voice steadying as she looked directly into his glowing eyes. “I would tear the heavens apart before I let anyone take Leo from me.”

“And no one ever will again,” Kael vowed softly, his fingers trailing down to intertwine with hers. As their skin met, the Fated Mate bond surged between them like a wave of pure heat, roaring through their bloodlines. Kael pulled both Seraphina and Leo into his arms, wrapping his massive frame around them in an unyielding shield. “I swear it on my wolf, on my crown, and on my life.”

Leo giggled, squeezing between them and hugging Kael’s neck with his small arms. “Daddy smells like pine trees and warm campfires now. It’s nice.”

Kael froze for a split second, his heart thumping hard against his ribs as the word Daddy echoed in his ears. A rare, blindingly soft smile broke across the Alpha’s sculpted features, and he kissed the top of his son’s head. “We have business to finish first, little prince. Then we come home.”

An hour later, the Grand Throne Room of the Royal Silvermoon Palace was packed to absolute capacity.

High vaulted ceilings of obsidian and white marble rang with tense, hushed whispers. Pack elders in heavy velvet robes, clan leaders from allied wolf territories, and high-ranking royal guards flanked the long central aisle. At the far end of the hall, seated upon the throne of dark granite, sat Alpha Kael. Beside his throne stood Seraphina, serene and terrifying in her quiet majesty, with Crown Prince Leo seated safely on a cushioned stool beside her.

In the center of the hall, bound in heavy, spell-dampening iron chains, knelt Princess Lyra.

The glamorous Sunfang princess was unrecognizable. Her golden hair was wild and tangled, her silk gown torn and stained with soot from her collapsed dark magic barrier. Her manicured blood-red nails dug frantically into the polished marble floor as two heavy-armored royal guards stood over her with drawn broadswords.

“This is an outrage!” Lyra shrieked, her high voice echoing off the high stone pillars. “I am Princess Lyra of the Sunfang Clan! You cannot chain me like a common rogue! Kael—look at me! That woman is a witch! She uses dark illusions to deceive you! She is a stray, a dirty outcast who—”

“SILENCE.”

The Alpha Command tore from Kael’s chest like a physical thunderclap. The sheer volume and pressure of his voice hit the walls, causing every elder in the room to flinch and bow their heads instinctually. Lyra’s jaw snapped shut with a sickening click as her throat muscles locked under the absolute compulsion of his King’s aura.

Beta Valerius stepped forward, holding a silver tray covered by a black velvet cloth. Beside him walked High Priest Malakor of the Silvermoon Temple, his long white beard trailing over ceremonial robes.

“My Sovereign Lord, Elders of the Realm,” High Priest Malakor began, his aged voice carrying crisp authority throughout the silent hall. “We have conducted a thorough examination of the royal gardens and Princess Lyra’s private quarters under the witness of five clan representatives.”

Malakor pulled back the velvet cloth, revealing three distinct pieces of evidence: the shattered hilt of an assassin’s shadow-dagger, a crystal vial containing dark wolfbane poison, and a thick parchment scroll sealed with black blood-wax.

“The shadow-blade was forged using forbidden dark soul-magic, outlawed across all wolf kingdoms three centuries ago,” Malakor declared, pointing a withered finger at the vial. “The poison matches the exact substance spilled from Prince Leo’s goblet at the feast tonight. And this scroll, intercepted from a Sunfang courier bird at the southern gates, contains explicit instructions written in Princess Lyra’s own hand, hiring rogue Sunfang shadow-assassins to eliminate both Lady Seraphina and the young Crown Prince.”

Gasps of horror and rage erupted through the assembly. Elders who had previously supported the Sunfang betrothal turned away in disgust, whispering curses under their breath.

“Lyra of the Sunfang Clan,” Kael’s voice echoed cold and unyielding as death itself. He stood up from his throne, his shadow stretching across the marble floor toward the bound princess. “You brought forbidden black magic into the royal sanctuary. You plotted the murder of my biological heir. You attempted to assassinate my true fated mate and the Supreme Luna of this realm. What say you before the tribunal?”

Lyra’s control over her throat loosened as Kael eased his command just enough for her to speak. Her ice-blue eyes darted around the room, finding only cold judgment on every face. Realizing her lies had run out, her fake elegance shattered into ugly, venomous spite.

“She stole everything from me!” Lyra screamed, spitting blood onto the floor. “I was supposed to be Queen! I spent six years building the Sunfang alliance! She is a nameless stray who laid in your bed for one night! I would have killed her ten times over if I had the chance!”

“Then your guilt is absolute,” Kael said flatly. He looked past her toward three elder representatives of the Sunfang Clan who were standing near the rear archway, pale and trembling.

The Sunfang Chief Elder immediately stepped forward and dropped to both knees, pressing his forehead against the cold stone. “Alpha King Kael! The Sunfang Clan knew nothing of this treason! Princess Lyra acted in secret madness! We sever all ties with her bloodline this instant and pledge our absolute submission to you and the Supreme White Wolf!”

Kael nodded once, his cold gaze returning to Lyra. “Princess Lyra is hereby stripped of all noble titles, ranks, and clan bloodline privileges. Her wolf shall be permanently bound by holy iron, and she shall be cast into the deepest obsidian mines of the northern border to live out the rest of her days in dark labor. No royal sun shall ever shine upon her again.”

“No! Kael! No! Mercy! You can’t do this to me!” Lyra shrieked as the guards grabbed her chains and dragged her backward down the long hall. Her nails scraped uselessly against the stone, leaving faint bloody trails until the heavy iron doors slammed shut, cutting off her screams forever.

Silence returned to the throne room, heavy and solemn.

Then, Kael turned toward Seraphina. He took her hand in his, raising it before the assembled nobility and pack elders.

“The darkness is purged,” Kael declared, his voice ringing with fierce, proud warmth. “Tomorrow, under the light of the full moon, the Royal Silvermoon Realm shall celebrate the grand coronation of its true Supreme Luna!”

The throne room exploded into thunderous cheers, warriors beating their chests and elders bowing low in solemn reverence.

The following night, the Sacred Royal Courtyard beneath the ancient Silverwood Tree was washed in brilliant lunar glow.

The ancient tree, standing over fifty paces tall, possessed silver leaves that hummed with a quiet, musical resonance whenever the night breeze passed through them. Beneath its spreading branches, the air was thick with the rich scents of cedar, fresh earth, and wild night-blooming flowers.

Before the formal public ceremony began in the plaza, Kael had requested a moment alone with Seraphina and Leo.

Leo was sitting near the roots of the Silverwood Tree, humming a playful tune while using his small fingers to trace glowing silver symbols into the moss. Small, playful golden wolf sparks darted around his ears, making him giggle happily.

Kael walked slowly up to Seraphina, who stood looking up at the shimmering leaves. She wore a simple white gown of heavy silk, her long dark hair falling over her shoulders in loose waves, punctuated by natural streaks of silver that caught the moonlight.

“Five years ago,” Seraphina said quietly without turning around, “I left this territory in total secret. I had no money, no pack, and no protection. I thought the world would swallow me and my child whole.”

Kael stepped up behind her, his large, warm hands settling gently on her waist. He pulled her back against his broad chest, burying his face into the curve of her neck where the wild orchid scent was strongest.

“Every single day of those five years,” Kael rasped, his voice thick with emotion, “I searched for you. I tore through rogue camps, questioned border traders, and nearly went mad trying to find the scent of the woman who stole my soul under the eclipse moon. I didn’t know about Leo… but my wolf knew I was incomplete.”

He turned her around gently so she was facing him. Kael reached into his leather tunic and pulled out a small velvet box. When he opened it, a exquisite silver diadem rested inside—forged from pure celestial silver, inlaid with a single crescent moon sapphire that glowed with inner white flame.

“My wolf recognized you six years ago, Seraphina,” Kael whispered, looking straight into her violet-blue eyes with unshakeable devotion. “I am never letting you go again. Will you rule by my side? Will you be my Luna, my mate, and my wife?”

Seraphina looked at the ring, then up at the Alpha King who had torn through guards, shattered poisoned traps, and stood against his own court to protect her and their son. The last lingering remnants of fear and isolation that had hardened her heart for five long years dissolved into pure, glowing warmth.

“Yes, Kael,” she murmured, a radiant smile breaking across her face. “Yes.”

Kael didn’t wait another second. He closed the distance between them, sliding his hand behind her nape and lifting her slightly off her feet as his lips claimed hers.

The kiss was explosive. The moment their lips met, the Fated Mate bond between them violently flared into full completion. A pillar of gold and silver light burst upward from their feet, swirling around them in a soaring double-helix that reached up into the branches of the Silverwood Tree. On Seraphina’s collarbone and Kael’s forearm, matching crescent-moon mate marks ignited in permanent, glowing silver light.

“Yay!” Leo clapped his hands from the moss below, jumping up and down. “Mommy and Daddy are glowing like big stars!”

Kael broke the kiss, laughing softly as he set Seraphina down, though he kept his arm securely wrapped around her waist. He reached down with his free arm and scooped Leo up onto his shoulder. “Come on, small prince. The realm is waiting.”

The Royal Plaza of the Silvermoon Capital was a sea of thousands upon thousands of people.

Every citizen, from common pack members to high warlords from distant mountain territories, crowded the grand square beneath the High Altar. Banners of dark navy and royal silver fluttered from every marble balcony under the night sky.

As High Priest Malakor stepped up to the edge of the high balcony, the deafening roar of the crowd quieted into breathless anticipation.

Kael walked out first, wearing his full Alpha King regal armor and crimson cloak. Beside him walked Seraphina, the celestial Silvermoon Diadem resting upon her brow, her silver-gilded white gown trailing gracefully over the stone. In Kael’s arm sat young Leo, looking out at the vast sea of wolfkind with bright, curious golden eyes.

High Priest Malakor raised his hands, his voice amplified by ancient wind magic across the entire capital city.

“People of the Silvermoon Realm! Today we witness the fulfillment of ancient prophecy and the divine restoration of our kingdom! By bloodline, by fate, and by divine awakening—I present to you our Supreme Luna!”

Malakor lifted the Supreme Crown of Silvermoon—a masterpiece of star-gem stone and ancient silver—and placed it gently upon Seraphina’s head.

Instantly, a shockwave of pure, white celestial aura erupted from Seraphina’s body, spreading out over the entire plaza. The light was gentle, soothing, and utterly dominant. Every single wolf in the crowd—warriors, elders, and clan chiefs alike—felt their inner wolves drop to their knees in instinctual, joyful reverence.

Kael stepped up to the edge of the balcony beside her. With a proud, booming laugh, he lifted five-year-old Leo high into the air above the crowd.

“Behold your Supreme Luna, Seraphina!” Kael’s thunderous voice roared across the plaza. “And behold your Crown Prince, Leo of the Silvermoon Lineage!”

Leo grinned widely, holding his small hands high. “Hello everybody!” he chirped, and as if answering his cheerful greeting, a shower of brilliant white wolf sparks burst from his small hands, floating over the crowd like friendly fireflies.

The crowd went wild. Tens of thousands of wolves threw back their heads and let out a unified, triumphant howl that shook the very mountains surrounding the capital. Golden and silver celestial fireworks exploded across the dark night sky, illuminating the smiling faces of the royal family.

Standing on the high balcony, Kael wrapped his arm around Seraphina’s waist, pulling her close against his side. She rested her head against his broad shoulder, watching their son wave happily at the cheering realm below.

“We made it home,” Seraphina whispered, her heart overflowing with peace.

“You are my home,” Kael replied, leaning down to press a tender kiss against her temple. “Forever.”

Late into the midnight hours, after the grand feast had wound down, quiet settled over the high royal balcony.

Leo was fast asleep in Kael’s arms, snoring softly and wrapped snugly in Kael’s heavy velvet cloak. Seraphina stood beside Kael, leaning against the marble railing as they looked out over the quiet, glowing city lights below.

Suddenly, a cold, unnatural gust of wind blew across the balcony, carrying the sharp scent of frost and old ash.

Kael’s golden eyes narrowed instantly. He shifted Leo slightly in his arms, his hand dropping to the hilt of his sword as his Alpha senses spiked.

From the dark northern sky, a solitary messenger hawk swooped down. Its feathers were dark as pitch, its eyes burning with an unnatural crimson light. The bird landed silently on the stone railing just inches from Seraphina, dropping a rolled parchment scroll before taking off back into the northern night.

Seraphina reached out and picked up the scroll. It was bound with pitch-black wax, stamped with an emblem of a shattered wolf skull—the ancient mark of the Northern Shadow Realm.

“What is it?” Kael asked, his voice dropping into a low growl.

Seraphina broke the black seal and unrolled the parchment. Her violet-blue eyes scanned the sharp, blood-red ink written across the surface.

To the Supreme White Wolf of the Silvermoon, the letter read. Enjoy your crown while the summer lasts. The dormant shadow lords of the Frost Wastes have smelled the awakening of your divine bloodline. We are coming to claim the cub.

Seraphina’s hand tightened on the scroll, black flames of celestial light igniting at her fingertips and burning the dark parchment into ash instantly.

She turned to look at Kael, her molten silver eyes flaring with absolute, unshakeable power. There was no fear in her expression—only the fierce, lethal confidence of a Supreme Luna protecting her pack and family.

Kael looked down at her, his own golden eyes burning with answering fire, a sharp, lethal smirk touching his lips.

“Let them come,” Seraphina whispered into the cold night wind. “We are ready.”
